Zakah and Sadaqah
The Marhaba Dawah Center Of America (MDCOA) is committed to fulfilling the needs of the Muslim community by facilitating financial support through zakat and sadaqah contributions. Our program is designed to assist residents of Maryland and DC, adhering to Islamic principles and ensuring that aid reaches those in need effectively and respectfully.
Contributions towards zakat and sadaqah can be made using our donation link or by mail to our office at 9532 Elvis Ln, Lanham, MD 20706. This initiative is part of our broader mission to serve and support our community spiritually, educationally, and financially.
For those wishing to request zakat or sadaqah, please fill out the application form available here, then submit it directly to the MDCOA office or via email to zakah@marhabadc.org.
To streamline the process of application and distribution, we collect zakat and sadaqah applications exclusively on Mondays. Our process ensures that applications are evaluated thoroughly, usually within a 15-business-day timeframe. We require applicants to complete all sections of the form and provide a government-issued identification card that includes a photo and home address. We cater solely to the local community; thus, applicants must be residents of Maryland or DC.
Upon approval, beneficiaries will receive assistance through checks mailed directly to the addresses provided in their applications. We urge applicants to notify us of any potential address changes during the application process in the designated comments section. For inquiries related to application status, our dedicated team can be reached at zakah@marhabadc.org.
Our zakat al-fitr services are operational with a specific timetable that is announced during Ramadan. The application for zakat al-fitr can be accessed here.
